- There are about 3.8 million Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) in the US every year.
- Post-concussion/TBI patients often experience headaches, photophobia, difficulty reading and concentrating among other symptoms.
- There are several neurological diagnostics and rehab methods for patients that have neuro visual issues.
- The tests utilized have baselines and norms for prevention and treatment.
Why Neuro Visual Training (NVT)?
Concussion Prevention
- NVT has been shown to reduce concussions.
- NVT baselines can guide concussion rehab and return-to-play decisions where other testing (such as ImPACT) are lacking.
- NVT will allow for a faster return-to-play after sustaining a concussion.
Improved Performance
- NVT has been shown to improve athletic performance.
- NVT can improve on already established neuromuscular training/rehab methods and has been shown to aid in ACL rehab by improving neuroplasticity, which results in better recovery from injuries.
- NVT can also help with issues that can develop from too much screen time.
Why Does This Matter?
What’s The Process?
Oculomotor Performance
- Speed and Precision
- Saccades
- Strobe Glasses
- Vector Balls
Processing Ability
- Peripheral Vision/Visual Memory
- Peripheral Vision Training
- Stroop Testing
Eye Discipline Testing
- Muscle Memory and Stabilization
- Near-Far Exercises
- Retinal Retention
- Brock String
How Much?
- Research shows 200 minutes of training is the amount of exposure needed to create neural plasticity and long-term changes.
- We accomplish this the following way:
- 90-minute baseline test
- Fifteen 20-minute sessions (typically done 2-3 times/week for best results)
- Total cost: $900
